While To Do List is already full of time saving features and functions to help you "get what really matters done" there are a couple of hidden or little known shortcuts that will save you even more time once you become an advanced To Do List user.
This help article will include those shortcuts and we hope you find them useful and help you get even more out of To Do List.
Ctrl + r (Refresh To Do List)
Once you have updated a To Do List with new details, changes to the due date, estimated effort, category or other key columns you may want to refresh the To Do List. You can do this by selecting Refresh - My Items which will refresh the active To Do List or Refresh - My To Do Lists which will refresh all To Do Lists in the workbook or you can just use 'Ctrl + r' which will refresh the currently active To Do List.
Auto Schedule
Auto Schedule has it's own help article which describes how and when to use this feature of To Do List. We have listed it here in the Shortcuts article so it is front and center in your learning of To Do List features. This function will save you significant time and frustration in the process of scheduling your To Do List activities.
Right Click Hide/Show Columns
The To Do List worksheets are protected for some key columns to ensure the functions and features are maintained. This means that some of the standard operations for a worksheet in Excel are not available (eg Copy & Paste rows, Delete or Insert Rows). The ability to Hide/Show columns is enabled and can be used by simply selecting the column or column(s) to be Hidden or Shown and then clicking Right-Click on your mouse and select Hide or Show to get the desired result. This is much quicker than the option available in the Custom Select Lists Form to Hide or Show a column, but it achieves the same result if you need to hide or show some of the columns for a To Do List.
Ctrl key to select Multiple Items in Filter
The Dashboard in To Do List provides a Filter to select specific To Do Lists and show results just for that To Do List. That Filter can also be used to select multiple To Do Lists by holding the Ctrl key down while selecting the list or list(s) that are required for the Filter.
